HOME AWAY FROM HOME; Boarding House;
Residential life is an integral part of the school. Boarders grew in self reliance and develop independent living skills in stimulating environment. They learn to identify their needs co-operate with each other and takes responsibilities of their own decisions. School offers hostel facilities for boys and girls separately. Both hostels are looked after by the wardens. Principal is in direct contact with every student.

  • Purely vegetarian meals are served. Menu is prepared as per the choice of the borders. The catering manager actively supervises Kitchen operations supported by the school supervisor. The school cafeteria offers snacks to the boarders on Sunday and on requirements.
  • At Cygnus caring and understanding support staff including housekeeping, matrons, maintenance staff, wardens and of course Principal and staff pay special attention to the boarding students.

Rules and Regulations of Hostel

  • All the students must converse in English in school premises and hostel to develop their language skills.
  • Damages done to buildings, furniture, library books, laboratories, sports goods etc. will be viewed as violence. Such losses should be paid for at the discretion of the Principal.
  • Any student found to have taken other students belongings will face penutive action.
  • Students are forbidden to contact outsiders without permission of the Warden/Principal.
  • No hostel student is allowed to go home except for scheduled break/sanctioned leaves or during approved holidays. Permission to go home must be sanctioned by the Principal only and the students permitted should inform the warden before leaving and when returning back.
  • Parents can visit their wards in the hostel only with a prior permission of the Principal.
  • Students in hostel are not allowed to keep any pocket money, gold ornaments or any electronic item like walkman, camera, computer i-pod, mobile phones etc.
  • School phone is provided to the Boarders on every Sunday to call up their parents.
  • Students are not allowed to give gifts to any teacher or any supporting staff except for cards on Teachers Day or Labour day.
  • Hostel student will come to school in proper uniform in the morning and during the Prep classes.
  • No jewellery coloured lenses or cosmetics will be allowed in the hostel.
  • Your ward will strive for 100% attendance in School. In case of overstay in hostel or leave without permission, a fine of Rs1000/- on first day followed by Rs. 100/- per day on subsequent days may be charged.
  • All clothes should be marked with the Roll No. of the student with a permanent marker. In case it is not marked the school may mark the same on chargeable basis @ 5/- each.
  • That only four pairs of casuals are allowed to any Boarder.
  • Uniform shall be washed free of charge.
  • That casuals will be washed on chargeable basis.
  • That undergarments, vests and socks shall be washed @ Rs. 1/- each (unpressed) from VIIth class onwards.
  • Imprest money – Imprest money is taken at the time of admission and it is used for outings, medication, external exam and the detail of it given to the parents at the end of the session.
  • Medical Treatment – School has infirmary, everyday doctor visits for the OPD’s and if he recommends then children are taken outside for the treatment to the expert doctors in the panel.
  • Special Coaching Facility is provided to the boarders for various subjects.

Parent’s visit : Parents are requested to visit their ward on holidays or as per intimation list. No parent will be allowed inside the campus after 5pm . In case of any emergency the parents are requested to contact the Principal or Warden.
